$50,000 donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Maria Valley

$50,000 donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Maria Valley

With California's drought, everyone is usually glad when it rains. However, at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Maria Valley (BGCSMV), rain brought anything but smiles. The roof of the Railroad Club leaked so badly that even the slightest of showers sent people scrambling for buckets, covering computers and protecting furniture with plastic sheeting.

Area opened its umbrellas – and its checkbook – to make a $50,000 donation in 2015 to help underwrite the costs of roof replacement.

“Aera Energy has been one of our corporate sponsors for several years,” said Jeremy Deming, BGCSMV chief professional officer. “We are so grateful that they understood what a critical issue this was. Without their assistance, this project would not have been possible.”
